MIDIMIDI is a language for commanding electronic musical instruments. A MIDI file contains instructions for a keyboard or audio plug-in to play certain musical notes. Because the only thing encoded is a set of instructions, MIDI files are extremely small. However, the sound quality of the playback keyboard or plug-in varies from machine to machine. Therefore, use MIDI for simple sounds like piano or flute.A MIDI file must be created by a musician using software known as a sequencer. Once the music has been recorded onto the sequencer, a MIDI file is exported.
